After-school programs
Wicked Cool For Kids partners with schools, PTOs, recreation departments and other community based organizations to provide educational after school programming. Programs typically meet directly after-school for one hour over six weeks. We offer hands-on, STEM- based programs that extend learning beyond the school day and beyond the school year. Our after-school programs challenge and entertain kids with educationally productive activities which combine instruction and fun. Wicked Cool For Kids classes offer kids an exciting and stimulating journey to understanding science and technology by allowing kids to experience and do science for themselves. Summer
Alas, the Summer Brain Drain. Those long lazy summer months are great for kicking back, getting outdoors, and being physically active, but not so good for remembering school work. Test scores dip from June to September. Backtracks in reading occur, and in math all groups of kids on average lose 2.6 months in grade equivalency
At Wicked Cool for Kids we understand that the back-to-school challenges kids face should not include playing catch-up. On the other hand we also understand that kids need a change of pace in the summer to re-energize them for the new school year. Over the past seven years our programs have championed a great mix of activities and structured play that combine academic integrity with a playful feel.
Our programs integrate STEM components to create a richer, more intentional learning environment . Kids enjoy these fun challenges and hands-on activities that reinforce grade expectations and beyond. We stress STEM connections so that parents can see that we go beyond the best attributes of a typical day camp. We think parents will appreciate the extra value when they enroll their child in a Wicked Cool for Kids program. We offer full and part time summer programs. See our “Programs” tab for more information.
